The event attracted game developers, representatives from prominent studios, brands, marketing agencies, alongside students and enthusiasts to join the Roblox community. During the opening ceremony, Mr. Dương Chí Tâm, Head of the Roblox Vietnam division of VNGGames, emphasized the strategic vision that this publisher has set out in collaboration with Roblox Corporation. Mr. Tâm stated: “Through organizing this workshop, we hope to build a strong community, equipping developers with essential skills to create high-quality products that carry the imprint of Vietnamese culture and national identity.”
According to VNGGames representatives, Roblox is one of the leading platforms in the 3D interactive experience sector, particularly attracting younger generations like Gen Z and Gen Alpha. With hundreds of millions of users globally, Roblox opens up significant opportunities for content developers as well as brands looking to engage users creatively and effectively. The VNGGames representative also shared about the long-term support strategy to create conditions for Vietnamese developers to connect and collaborate with major brands.
At the event, the Roblox representative presented an in-depth session, introducing details about Roblox Studio – a content development tool used by millions of creators worldwide to build interactive experiences.
According to Mr. Gong Chen, representative of the Roblox Developer Relations team, this platform is not just a place for entertainment but also a “creative ecosystem where anyone – even those without programming backgrounds – can become a developer.” Roblox Studio provides an intuitive development environment, rich resource libraries, and robust support systems, helping to streamline the process of turning ideas into reality.
“Roblox is not just gaming. It serves as a platform for all types of content: media, commerce, entertainment, education, and more. We set out a vision to ‘Redefine the way people connect with each other’ in a positive and civil manner. On Roblox, anyone can create unique experiences, regardless of their background.”
“In the next 12 months, up to March 31, 2025, Roblox has already spent over $1 billion on developers. Furthermore, the top 10 leading developers generate an average of $36 million annually, which is 28% higher than the same period in 2024. Notably, the top 100 developers have recorded an even more impressive growth rate: a 35% increase compared to the previous year,” Mr. Gong Chen noted.
Moreover, new features soon to be launched will also be updated and enhanced, providing more opportunities for developers to expand their creative capacities and build sustainable experiences. In particular, the platform will offer various technical solutions to help content creators easily adapt, stay updated with trends, and particularly ensure intellectual property rights.
The presentation from Roblox representatives received positive feedback from the media, developers, especially from studios that have experience creating products on the platform.
The program continued with a discussion featuring two prominent speakers: Mr. Hà Tùng Dương (duongcfa) – a developer in the Roblox Vietnam community, and Mr. Trần Đình Nam Anh – founder of Leco Studio, one of the experienced studios actively operating in the local market.
Here, the speakers shared their insights about the product development process from initial ideas, overcoming technical challenges, to developing team dynamics to optimize products for users globally. The practical anecdotes, lessons learned, and operational strategies shared by the speakers provided strong motivation for those pursuing careers in game development and content creation on the Roblox platform.
The two speakers consistently shared successful stories and practical lessons in the development processes of their projects on Roblox. Trần Đình Nam Anh emphasized: “Roblox is a platform that helps Vietnamese studios overcome significant challenges, from technical barriers to building community engagement. The support in tools and resources from Roblox has enabled us to realize our creative ideas and achieve notable successes.”
Alongside the successes, the speakers did not shy away from addressing the challenges that Vietnamese developers often encounter, such as competition in a vast global market while ensuring user engagement and building a thriving community. Many studio representatives present at the event shared the biggest challenge: how to make their products stand out among millions of experiences on Roblox. “It’s crucial to offer unique ideas and value that your game brings to players,” Trần Đình Nam Anh remarked. From practical constraints raised during the discussion, the speakers brought many valuable lessons learned, such as optimizing user experiences, creating unique content, and effectively managing business models on Roblox.
In light of the opportunities and challenges facing the creative community on Roblox, the VNGGames representative reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting and collaborating with Vietnamese game developers. “This workshop is not just a place for sharing and learning experiences, but also a sustainable platform that empowers Vietnamese developers to confidently explore their potential on the global stage,” the VNGGames representative emphasized.
The event also witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students and pupils. With a passion for creativity and a desire to explore new platforms, many students registered to participate to gain deeper insights into Roblox – a game development environment that is attracting millions of creators worldwide.
Not only did they listen and take notes, but the students also asked many direct questions to the speakers, showcasing their open-mindedness and eagerness to explore the world of technological innovation.
“This is the first time I’ve heard firsthand experiences shared by Roblox developers in Vietnam. I’m very impressed to learn that with a simple idea, a group like mine can also start learning to make games and even earn income from it. After this event, I’m determined to engage with Roblox Studio to develop my own project,” shared Nguyễn Minh Quân, a second-year student in Software Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Information Technology.
The event concluded with an open networking session that allowed everyone involved to exchange, connect, collaborate, and discuss new opportunities together, marking an important milestone in the development journey of the Roblox community in Vietnam, fostering many new opportunities for content creators and brands in the local and international markets.
