In the world of Solo Leveling, Hunters always face formidable monsters. These beasts, lurking in the shadows, are always ready to attack any human they encounter. However, the true horror for a Hunter lies in facing the infamous names of the Demonic Beasts, not just their sheer strength but also their penchant for hunting their own kind.
Typically, the highest-ranking monsters in a Dungeon tend to be smarter and significantly harder to defeat. Throughout the series, many notorious Demonic Beasts have made appearances, but the following list highlights the most powerful and dangerous among them, ranked by their strength and threat levels.
7. Kargalgan

Kargalgan primarily commands a legion of formidable orc warriors. He is a powerful spellcaster capable of overwhelming an entire A-rank Hunter squad by himself. Kargalgan holds humans in disdain, viewing them as mere insects. In fact, after establishing a connection with the Hunters Guild in the Demonic realm, he even ventured into his lair to devise plans to eliminate them.
His offensive strategy could be formidable if Sung Jinwoo did not team up with other A-rank Hunters, but when it came down to a duel, Jinwoo managed to rescue his allies. Despite being an S-rank orc with immense magical prowess, Kargalgan had to exert considerable effort to pose a challenge to Jinwoo. During their battle, Jinwoo eventually overwhelmed Kargalgan after a fierce clash.
6. Baran

Baran, known as the Monarch of White Flames, is a powerful beast who perished after a conflict that lasted for thousands of years. He is one of the formidable Kings and has encountered many strong warriors. Sung Jinwoo fought against Baran’s avatar in the final floors of the Great Castle and had to employ various techniques to secure victory.
If Baran had truly been serious, Jinwoo could have faced severe consequences. Long before this, Baran had dared to engage in combat with one of the strongest beings in existence, which made his battle with Sung incredibly thrilling. His approach was not without risk, as it transformed him into a dangerous and challenging opponent.
5. Baruka

Baruka is the chief of the Ice Elf clan and is also known as the guardian of the Red Gate. He is an S-rank creature known as a Snow Folk, and even Sung Jinwoo admitted that he was not strong enough to defeat him in a direct confrontation.
Similar to many other high-ranking monsters, Baruka is quite arrogant and tends to look down on humans. He is also intelligent and has drawn numerous insightful conclusions about Jinwoo after an encounter. Unfortunately, his excessive confidence ultimately led to his downfall in the fight against Sung.
4. Ant King

The Ant King is a monstrous entity of S-rank. At some point before the group reached the Jeju Island Dungeon, the Ant Queen had given birth to him. He is unlike any other ant on the island, and his innate strength is extraordinary.
The Ant King’s greatest ability is his capacity to evolve at an alarming rate, known as Gluttony. By consuming any living creature, he can absorb their skills and knowledge, which drives his rapid development. Just days after birth, he can learn human languages, magic, healing spells, and size manipulation.
3. Kandiaru

Kandiaru is the guardian of the Demonic realm where Sung Jinwoo lost his power during his second awakening. He is also the architect of the dark labyrinth and created it with the intent of trapping intruders without realizing that he would eventually lead them to catastrophic situations. As an S-rank demon, Kandiaru is incredibly powerful and intelligent. He possesses an insatiable thirst for blood and shows a peculiar delight in hunting humans in horrifying ways.
2. Kamish

Kamish is the guardian of an S-rank Dungeon. He is described as having an insatiable thirst for blood against humans and possesses a destructive arrogance. After the fall of the Demonic realm, Kamish invaded the continent of the West. The government has dispatched top-tier Hunters from around the world to combat him, but Kamish appears impervious to harm.
At one point, Kamish was defeated by the combined forces of national Hunters, resulting in the death of over a million civilians and the near extinction of S-rank Hunters. Despite this, many years after the massacre, no other supernatural event has reached the level of devastation Kamish caused. It is no surprise that Kamish is regarded as humanity’s greatest catastrophe.
1. Legia

Legia is the King of the Void Beasts, a species created by the Dark Emperor. He is incredibly cunning and manipulative, with an insatiable thirst for blood that cannot be easily quenched by humans.
Legia had been dormant for an indeterminate amount of time throughout history, only to re-emerge during the recent events in Tokyo, where Jinwoo discovered that he was the hidden guardian of the Demonic realm. Despite his attempts to confront Sung, he ultimately faced a disastrous defeat.
