On June 17, HK01 reported that actress Tsai Yu-chen shared her difficult experiences with harassment while filming Angel Heart (1995), but she could not resist discussing it.
According to Tsai Yu-chen, she entered the entertainment industry at the young age of 15. The actress was typically accompanied by 3-4 people for support, but there were moments when she found herself facing harassment from male co-stars on set.
One notable incident occurred during a heated romantic scene, where a male actor exploited the filming environment, leading to inappropriate behavior towards Tsai Yu-chen. Despite feeling uncomfortable due to the intense heat and the situation, she had to maintain her professionalism to complete the scene, which often required multiple takes and made it difficult for crew members on set.
“I just wanted to slap him six times. I never wanted to confront him directly. I shared my experiences because I wanted to remind fellow actresses to take care of their own well-being. At that moment, I was weak and suffered, but now, I urge everyone to prioritize their safety. Please let directors know in advance if you feel uncomfortable on set,” Tsai Yu-chen stated.

According to ETtoday, the issue of harassment has become increasingly concerning in the entertainment industry, especially in Taiwan, where star Huo Jiat Huy faced backlash after being accused of inappropriate behavior with multiple actresses during filming.
Specifically, when filming a scene, Huo Jiat Huy requested that the actresses take photos to showcase their appeal, which made them uncomfortable. The male actor even insisted on creating a separate soundtrack that featured intimate sounds that could have made the environment even more awkward.
When the actresses did not meet his expectations, the male actor reportedly became demanding, using his power to pressure them into uncomfortable situations, which led to a toxic work environment. Huo Jiat Huy also insisted that the actresses perform certain intimate scenes that contributed to the overall discomfort.
Tsai Yu-chen, born in 1975, is known for her charm and beauty that captivated many audiences. From the beginning of her career, she did not shy away from taking on roles that showcased her sensuality, often appearing in erotic films and soft adult films. Since then, she has been dubbed the “queen of erotic films” and a “third-rate movie star.”

This difficult experience has made Tsai Yu-chen’s journey in the entertainment industry more challenging.
