Phu Thuy’s Rise in TFT Set 13
Although designed to make a significant impact in TFT Set 13, the Phu Thuy has not been widely utilized during the early stages, encountering several drawbacks. The gameplay revolves around the 2 and 4 Phu Thuy traits, which are often seen as essential, and this makes the initial phase of this composition remarkably “invincible.” It wasn’t until Riot Games released patches 13.4 and more recently 13.5 that buffs were granted to the 4 Phu Thuy trait, significantly boosting this composition’s viability.

In addition to buffs, the Sư Giả and especially Ambessa have also received significant changes that positively affect gameplay. A few high-ranked players in the LPL have combined these two traits and achieved remarkable results, especially when leveraging Nami’s energy regeneration that enhances damage-dealing compositions, making them even more effective. Moreover, competing against this composition has become increasingly difficult due to the overwhelming damage output from the Phu Thuy champions, while the new Ambessa champions cannot be underestimated.
Building the Garen – Phu Thuy Composition in TFT Set 13
A common starting strategy for players is utilizing Lux – Zyra to create a strong frontline when they are the primary damage dealers. For frontline positions, traits such as Sư or Giám Sát are excellent choices as they synergize well with the Phu Thuy champions, particularly when they can gain SMPT from Phu Thuy. If fortunate, players might use Swain to dominate the battlefield from level 5 onwards while also benefiting from the 4 Phu Thuy synergy alongside Vladimir.

In the mid-game stage, players should incorporate Nami into their composition as early as possible to improve energy regeneration. A crucial tip is for players to purchase Tristana to maximize the chances of having her in the shop. There will be some early battles, but champions like Garen and Ambessa tend to show up early, making it essential to have Tristana to activate the 4 Sư Giả synergy effectively and powerfully.

After reaching level 8, players will need to “reroll” to find crucial 4-cost champions like Ambessa and Garen to finalize their composition. Additionally, Elise and LeBlanc are also great choices to boost damage output and can be acquired from level 3 Hua Hong Den. If Phu Thuy champions appear, players can easily reach level 9 and incorporate Zoe to activate the powerful 6 synergies.

Key Tips for Building the Composition
With the powerful “energy” mechanics of the Phu Thuy trait, players should aim to combine Ngân Giáo Shojin as early as possible for their compositions. Additionally, during the level-up process, players can choose to reroll for a 3-star Swain if this champion appears frequently in their shop. In terms of equipment, upgrades granting significant benefits to Phu Thuy or Xêng/Chào Vàng are essential keys for securing victories in the endgame.
