Ezreal’s Rise in TFT Set 13
Ezreal is known for his potential as a powerful unit in Teamfight Tactics (TFT), yet he often goes underutilized in TFT Set 13. This is largely due to the dominance of reroll strategies that focus on lower-cost units, which overshadow Ezreal’s effectiveness as a higher-cost unit. The meta has shifted significantly, making it difficult for Ezreal to compete with compositions that rely on 2-cost units, as their endgame potential does not match the 4-5 cost units’ capabilities. Consequently, Ezreal is primarily used to “trigger” abilities in compositions centered around Tristana or Corki.
However, this changed in Patch 13.6 when players started seeking out Ezreal after 2-cost reroll compositions (like Zeri and Tristana) were heavily nerfed. Additionally, Riot Games buffed the health of the Mystic trait, which helped Ezreal regain strength in this more favorable environment. Combined with a strong Mystic composition featuring Heimerdinger, this meta has allowed the Mystic – Academy composition to shine.
Building the Mystic – Academy Composition in TFT Set 13
With the Mystic trait buffed, players can effectively start their matches with champions like Vex, Irelia, and Sett to ensure they have strong combat capabilities. Furthermore, Vex can provide valuable support for Heimerdinger, making it essential for players to include her in this composition. Upon reaching level 4, Rell becomes a vital addition, as activating the Mystic and Academy traits simultaneously increases Vex’s damage capabilities.
During the mid-game, players should focus on purchasing experience points when reaching level 7 to upgrade Ezreal to 3 stars as quickly as possible. Additionally, Loris and Leona are also very strong during this phase, helping the composition achieve 4 Mystic traits while enhancing overall survivability. If players manage to secure Heimerdinger early, they should prioritize using this composition immediately; otherwise, Lux can be substituted to maintain a strong presence in combat.
As the game progresses into the late stages, players should aim to reach level 9 after accumulating sufficient gold. Strong units like Illaoi, Jayce, and Rumble should be incorporated into the team to ensure a strong frontline capable of absorbing damage while controlling the battlefield with powerful abilities. Additionally, Jayce can also provide extra equipment support, allowing for more flexibility in building strong carries.
Key Tips for Building the Composition
Ezreal is a formidable carry due to his high damage output and ability to deal with various threats. Core items such as Infinity Edge and Blue Buff are crucial for maximizing his potential. Additionally, Guinsoo’s Rageblade is also an excellent choice for this composition as Ezreal remains well-protected by the Mystic units. Regarding the trait synergy, champions like Ezreal and Heimerdinger benefit greatly from the Mystic – Academy combination, providing them with the necessary support to excel.
