The Rise of the Gemini in TFT Set 14
Before the launch of TFT Set 14, the Gemini trait was considered quite weak as its effectiveness in the economy was not too notable. Players largely focused on using various Gemini champions when there were significant buffs to the Gold Dragon trait, which provided a considerable increase in gold generation. However, this changed dramatically in patch 14.2 when Riot directly buffed several Gemini champions, making this trait significantly stronger.

First, Jarvan IV received buffs across all levels, which significantly increased its ability to deal damage in the late game. Annie also received an increase in damage output, especially in terms of her ability to deal damage over time. Combined with the enhancements to the 4/6 Gemini champions, this made the lineup much more powerful in the late game, compared to earlier versions which relied heavily on Aphelios.
Building a Gemini Composition in TFT Set 14
With the nature of a strong late-game trait, players need to have a solid starting lineup to sustain their health and build up gold towards the later levels. Therefore, strong early-game champions like Alistar, Dr. Mundo, or Kindred will be key picks to maintain health early on and even secure win streaks. At level 4, Jhin is a great choice to help increase Kindred’s damage while also providing an additional damage dealer.

In the middle game, players should maintain 50 gold to reach level 8 as quickly as possible. Following this, Jarvan IV and Braum will significantly increase the frontline durability. Players can also consider using champions like Draven or Senna to bolster the team during this phase. This lineup provides many strong synergies for Aphelios while maintaining a solid frontline.

After reaching level 9, players should continuously use gold to scout for key champions. Aphelios, Annie, and Viego should be prioritized to activate the 6 Gemini trait and ensure a steady source of damage. Meanwhile, Leona, Zac, or Kobuko can serve as strong frontline additions to the team, allowing players to make better choices in their champion selections. Players might also use Urgot or Samira as a secondary carry to synergize well with Aphelios.

A Few Tips for Building the Composition
With the higher tiers of Gemini champions providing only damage boosts, Aphelios requires significant attack damage to effectively “carry the team.” Therefore, players should aim to equip items like Guinsoo’s Rageblade alongside two other damage-dealing items for this champion. Additionally, enhancements like Bloodthirster, Infinity Edge, or Last Whisper will synergize well with this composition. Furthermore, players can also consider adding components that grant healing when using these high-tier Gemini champions.
