The Strength of the “Dual Threat” Rengar – Jinx in TFT Season 14
In TFT Season 14, Rengar has emerged as a formidable core champion with immense combat power and resilience. Not only does he possess high damage potential, but this champion’s abilities also allow Rengar to stay alive and excel in skirmishes. Even after being slightly nerfed in patch 14.1b, Rengar continues to show that he is a supremely powerful champion capable of quickly eliminating threats from the backline.
The key advantage of Rengar lies in his ability to initiate fights first, making it difficult for opponents to respond and set up their strategies. To address this, high-level players in the LPL have sought out Jinx for her powerful damage output when she uses her abilities. It’s particularly noteworthy that both Jinx and Rengar can be acquired for just 3 gold and belong to the Cannoneer trait. This allows players to effectively apply the reroll strategy at level 7 to upgrade these champions to 3 stars while still conserving gold and activating the high-tier Cannoneer trait during battles.
Building the Cannoneer Trait Team at TFT Season 14
In the early game, players should focus on purchasing Cannoneer champions with high value, such as Dr. Mundo, Ekko, or Zyra to activate the 3 Cannoneer bonus, while also adding a few other champions. Next, Jhin will be an excellent champion to buy during this stage as he synergizes well with Jinx to enhance her damage output. Additionally, strong frontline champions such as Darius, Gragas, or Alistar are also crucial at this stage to help protect the backline.
At level 7, players should consider applying a slow roll strategy to search for and upgrade Rengar and Jinx into the team composition. Furthermore, Varus can also be a fitting addition during this phase as he activates the 2 Mystic bonus for Rengar, providing him with additional survivability. This allows Rengar to significantly enhance his damage output while also creating opportunities for Jinx to unleash her abilities as often as possible.
After successfully upgrading Jinx and Rengar to 3 stars, players should quickly aim for level 9 to introduce champions like Samira and Brand into the team. These champions will help players complete the 7 Cannoneer trait while also adding additional damage output to the composition. Additionally, Vex is also a valuable addition during this phase due to her Mystic trait providing more survivability, which is crucial for both Rengar and Jinx.
Some Tips for Building the Team Composition
Even though Rengar and Jinx are primarily damage dealers, their synergy with items like Guinsoo’s Rageblade is not too difficult to manage. Players should aim to equip them with items such as Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, and Green Bow to enhance their damage and survivability. Meanwhile, Rengar will greatly benefit from items like the Hand of Justice and the Bloodthirster to perform optimally in fights. One key point to note is that the Cannoneer trait (including both Rengar and Jinx) works exceptionally well with items that provide utility. Therefore, players should prioritize acquiring items that offer utility as soon as possible to further boost the damage output of these critical champions.
