Kog’Maw Build – TFT Set 13 Overview
Despite the recent nerfs, the current build of TFT Set 13 has made Kog’Maw – the Watchdog – less favorable than before. The reason is that players are exploring various strategies to effectively utilize champions with the potential to apply pressure or deal consistent damage in the backline, such as Ambessa, Twitch, etc. Not to mention, the strong reroll strategies with the potential buffs from Renata have significantly limited Kog’Maw’s damage potential.

Therefore, in the upcoming patch 13.4, Riot Games has made significant adjustments to help this build regain its foothold in the meta. Specifically, two crucial Watchdog units in the match, Vander and Scar, have received substantial buffs, primarily enhancing their defensive capabilities, which in turn helps Kog’Maw’s frontline become harder to eliminate and creates better conditions for sustained damage output.
Celestial Warrior – Moonlight Set in TFT Set 13
Similar to Kog’Maw – the Watchdog, the Celestial Warrior – Moonlight set has been somewhat neglected in patch 13.3 due to excessive competition. The Heimerdinger composition has encountered fierce competition, making it challenging to upgrade this unit to 2 stars, especially at level 9. Moreover, with the dominance of strong assassin builds in previous patches, Sion’s presence has become overwhelming and lacks significant value in actual matches.

In patch 13.4, the frontline strength of this build will be significantly improved when Morgana receives enhanced damage output in her new level 2 state. Additionally, the regeneration effect for the Celestial units will be adjusted down from level 8 to level 6, making it much easier for this build to return to a more competitive state in patch 13.4 and reclaim a position in the leading meta compositions.
Vanguard – Academy Set in TFT Set 13
One of the key highlights of the Vanguard – Academy build is its strong presence in the current meta. To secure a win in this phase, players need to rely heavily on the Academy units at level 3, which can be quite strong. In early matches where the Academy units are particularly robust, players often find themselves in a position of high vulnerability due to the strong presence of opponents.

Riot’s acknowledgment of this issue means that in the upcoming patch 13.4, the frontline strength of this build will be significantly augmented. Specifically, Leona and Lloris will receive substantial buffs, particularly in their level 3 states. This adjustment will enhance the reroll strategy of the Academy build significantly, as players will be able to utilize Leona and Lloris to deal consistent damage from a distance with Ezreal. Thus, players can expect to see a considerable increase in survivability and the potential to scale towards higher levels while securing crucial victories in the endgame.
