In 2013, fans around the world had to mourn the unexpected passing of beloved actor Paul Walker. To honor the late actor, who was widely recognized for his role as Brian O’Conner, the film crew decided to employ CGI technology to recreate Paul Walker’s image and complete the filming of Furious 7, which was still in production at the time of his death.
Despite the challenges, Furious 7 emerged as a massive success, breaking box office records and becoming one of the top-grossing films of 2015.
In a heartfelt tribute to Paul Walker, the production team of the Fast 8 film has released a video featuring cast members reflecting on their memories of him. Follow the link below to watch the clip and learn more about their thoughts on Paul Walker.
Fast 8 cast remembers Paul Walker
According to the announcement in the clip from the Fast 8 cast, the film crew has partnered with Omaze to raise funds for The Paul Walker Foundation. Fans who donate to this cause will have the chance to win a trip to visit the film set and get up close and personal with all the iconic cars used in the Fast & Furious franchise.
All proceeds from the fundraising campaign for The Paul Walker Foundation will be utilized to protect and restore marine environments globally. This initiative is a meaningful way to remember the beloved actor who dedicated so much to causes near and dear to his heart.
Alongside the tribute to Paul Walker, the Fast 8 film crew is also excited to introduce a new character played by actor Scott Eastwood (who will also appear in Suicide Squad next month) as part of the Fast 8 cast.
Fast 8 is set to be completed and released on April 14, 2017.
