In 2015, a company from the United States named MegaBots launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to develop a giant combat robot capable of battling the Kuratas robot from Suidobashi Heavy Industry in Japan. After a lengthy preparation period, both robots were announced to be ready for combat the following year.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the duel between the two robots would be broadcast on television the following year. The engineers, Matt Oehrlein and Gui Cavalcanti, have been working on adding an additional weapon system to the Mark III robot, which could potentially slice through a thin sheet of paper like a knife through butter. The Mark III robot is expected to be 100% complete by the end of this year.
Currently, the official combat date between the two super robots from the United States and Japan is still under wraps, reminiscent of scenes from the sci-fi movie Real Steel that many of us have seen before. However, it has already generated significant excitement in the growing community of robot enthusiasts, as well as among fans of the sci-fi genre.
