The Live-Action adaptation of Netflix’s popular manga series “One Piece,” created by Eiichiro Oda, premiered on August 31, bringing fans a new perspective on the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates as they search for the legendary treasure, One Piece, across the Grand Line.
Just like Luffy and his crew set sail on their quest for One Piece, the cast has successfully brought Oda’s stories to life with a fresh, vibrant interpretation, showcasing an exciting new world crafted under the guidance of the original creator.

Oda acknowledged that while the adaptation might not be an exact replica of the original material, actors like Iñaki Godoy, who plays Luffy, have brilliantly embodied his vision, transforming the characters into a more tangible and engaging reality.
“After the film’s release, I’m sure I will receive feedback about how this character lacks certain elements or how the scenes differ from the manga. However, I’m confident that the discussions will stem from a deep love for the original, so I will always feel pleased to receive such feedback,” Oda shared.
“There is also a point where I think Luffy won’t resemble the character in the comics,” the creator added, “but when I see the scenes, I find Iñaki’s portrayal of Luffy to be fantastic. In fact, all aspects are better than I imagined.”
