The Community is Abuzz with the “Secret Scheme” Regarding T1
While the drama surrounding Gumayusi continues to escalate, a “secret scheme” has emerged within the international League of Legends community and inevitably spread to the VCS regarding the future of players T1, particularly concerning Gumayusi – Smash and the coaching staff. In short: T1 will not utilize Gumayusi until at least the end of the Road to MSI playoffs, instead opting to use Smash. If T1 fails to qualify for MSI, the coaching staff will face significant scrutiny.
At first glance, this appears to be a rather implausible “secret scheme,” especially considering that the source of this information comes from T1Gall, a well-known anti-fan of Gumayusi. However, if the situation worsens, it’s not impossible. Furthermore, commentator Hoàng Luân has noted, “there could be a 70% chance of it being true.”
Previously, if the team had performed as expected, Gumayusi would have needed to step up after T1’s crushing defeat against HLE. However, this did not turn into reality. Thus, it can be understood that even if T1 loses again, Smash will still be the main choice. This aligns with the information that T1 will only be using Smash in the current phase.
If so, the likelihood of turning it into a reality is quite high. Nevertheless, some perceptive fans have noticed: It’s possible that at some point (prior to MSI), T1 might not utilize Smash anymore. However, with any announcement, T1 will still maintain its coaching staff and bring Gumayusi back into the main lineup. Every shift that happens will throw T1 back into the spotlight when they seek to reclaim victory.
Any Changes Now Could Happen to T1
Of course, if we follow conventional logic, the decision of T1’s coaching staff to firmly implement Smash is quite hard to believe. However, with a team that has just won the World Championships twice in a row, they cannot afford to remain stagnant for any reason. Therefore, any changes that occur could very well happen. If the “secret scheme” turns out to be true, it will also be a vital consequence for the entirety of the team.
