In this summer season, with the application of the Fearless Draft system, there might not be many opportunities left, as the bans will have a significant impact on the outcomes of the matches. However, this does not mean that other teams lack creativity. The effectiveness of the bans depends on the skills of the teams. It is worth noting that in the recent match against DN Freecs, T1 faced an opponent that had no significant counter strategy.
In fact, DNF chose a very strong lineup, and T1 has faced numerous challenges. However, just like the moments that stood out, especially when the bot lane duo Gumayusi – Keria played, T1 managed to secure a well-deserved victory. Nevertheless, this lineup of T1 showed that the new “dynamics” of Gen.G is not the only one, as HLE is also not to be underestimated.
Moreover, T1’s selections in game 2 brought many experimental elements while also being a strong choice that DNF could potentially exploit. This inadvertently highlighted the weaknesses of Gen.G in their recent match against T1 last week. Both DNF this week and T1 last week had a common point: they created significant difficulties for their opponents and won due to the moments of superstar performance.
Additionally, T1 and Gen.G’s lineups are two distinct opposing forces. While Gen.G in their match against T1 only had one single damage dealer and four tanks, T1’s lineup in the recent match against DNF was more diversified, with only Bard as support.
And it is also evident that T1 is not HLE, as they are the only team in both encounters this season (loss – win) that has consistently made Gen.G sweat and lose both matches. This is something that HLE has yet to achieve in their encounters with the MSI 2024 champions during the 2025 Regular Seasons.
T1’s Bright Prospects for MSI 2025
While this statement and the beginning of the 2025 Regular Seasons may spark controversy, currently, T1 is indeed in good form, even showing a better performance than HLE. Of course, the upcoming match between the two teams at the end of the week could influence the rankings between HLE and T1, determining who will be the second representative alongside Gen.G for the upcoming MSI 2025.
HLE themselves are not the weakest opponents, especially when they are showing a strong determination, as long as T1 does not take advantage of the opportunity, which could lead to missed chances, especially since they previously lost at First Stand due to mistakes of a “self-destructive” nature.
