Today, the Jujutsu Kaisen fan community has received significant news regarding the future of the series.
After more than 5 years of captivating audiences, creator Gege Akutami has announced the conclusion of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. This announcement was confirmed by Shueisha when the publisher issued a rare press release. According to the statement, the team has confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen will release its final chapter on September 30 in Japan. Fans in the United States will have the opportunity to read this chapter a day earlier on September 29 due to time zone differences.

Specifically, Shueisha has released an official letter from the author. In this letter, it is emphasized that Jujutsu Kaisen has reached its conclusion primarily due to the unwavering support of its fandom.
Gege Akutami stated: “The story will conclude after 5 more chapters. I am only able to finish the story in the way I want because of the support and collaboration of all the staff. Thank you, everyone.”
“I am putting in my utmost effort to create a final chapter that (hopefully) will not disappoint the many fans who have supported Jujutsu Kaisen. Therefore, I hope everyone will be patient with me!”, the author added.

For Akutami, the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen has been a long time coming. The author began working on this supernatural manga in March 2018. The series quickly gained popularity among fans, and as Jujutsu Kaisen continued, it became one of Shueisha’s best-selling titles.
With the anime adaptation produced by MAPPA, Jujutsu Kaisen is now one of the leading works in the current shonen genre. With over 90 million copies sold, Jujutsu Kaisen has become the best-selling title for Shueisha in recent years. It’s hard to imagine Shonen Jump without Jujutsu Kaisen, as the magazine will have to face a new reality soon.
