The manga Jujutsu Kaisen follows the story of Yuji Itadori, a high school student who gets pulled into the world of curses after swallowing a finger belonging to Sukuna and becomes the vessel of the King of Curses. The Shinjuku Showdown serves as the concluding arc of the series, where sorcerers collaborate to confront Sukuna, Kenjaku, and Uraume.
Among the various characters that appear, the climactic battle is noted as one of the most intense confrontations faced by sorcerers to date. The narrative kicks off with Sukuna’s emergence and culminates in a significant defeat for our heroes. Therefore, from a storytelling perspective, Sukuna can only be vanquished due to the combined strength of the main characters.
While the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen may not be entirely satisfying and has drawn various critiques within the fan community, many have noticed that this conclusion bears quite a few similarities to Attack on Titan.
What Happens in the Ending of Jujutsu Kaisen?

According to the details in chapter 271, the final scene features Sukuna’s finger placed inside a sealed box. In Shinjuku, Sukuna possesses the strength of 19 fingers, and he has already consumed the box containing the 20th finger.
The last finger has been sealed to deceive him. Not only that, but Nobara also utilizes the Resonance technique on it to weaken the fierce battle. However, the finger itself cannot be destroyed. Therefore, the sorcerers have no choice but to continue sealing it. The curse bound within will gradually weaken over the months.
As long as the curse remains, the potential for another curse to appear still exists. Moreover, Sukuna encounters Mahito on a path where spirits travel to complete the cycle. He seems to hint at walking a different path in life next time, suggesting Sukuna hopes for another chance at existence.
Are the Endings of Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan Similar?

In a way, the finale of Jujutsu Kaisen indeed resembles Attack on Titan as the manga concludes with the notion that “the cycle continues.” Many years after the war’s conclusion, a young child discovers the tree from which Eren was born.
Now, the tree has taken the form of the tree that Ymir Fritz once possessed, representing the strength of the Titans. This suggests that the child may inherit the powers of the Titan and potentially bring the world back to its former state. Simultaneously, the battle will never truly end, and the world may again face the threat of Titans resurfacing once more.
