Manga Jujutsu Kaisen has concluded in September 2024, following the intense battle against Sukuna, the King of Curses. Ryomen Sukuna is the main antagonist of the series, and now he has been defeated in the combined effort of all Jujutsu sorcerers.
With the long battle against Sukuna coming to an end, all sorcerers have united to contribute to the reform of the Jujutsu world. The fight does not signify the end of curses; however, the reformation of Jujutsu provides better training for future sorcerers, potentially reducing future losses.
However, among all the sorcerers, there is one individual who could not participate in the battle against Sukuna. That is Panda, who has lost both of his cores and was severely weakened after the fight with Kashimo. Just when Kashimo was about to strike Panda, Hakari had already called for him at that moment, but Panda could not fight back.
Later, Panda appears briefly before the fierce battle of the strongest individuals to support Gojo. The conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen from chapter 30 shows the tragic fate of this bear-like character, although he has survived longer than his peers.
Panda’s fate is established in 2080
Although Panda is the only character still alive in the future, his role is quite tragic. He lost the ability to control his cores after the event where he was attacked in November 2018. By October 2035, he completely ceased to function and was registered as a relic in Gojo’s storage. He was treated as a relic and his ownership rights were transferred to Yuta Okkotsu, who would take over Gojo’s legacy as the next head after the death of his mentor.
In 2080, Yuta’s grandchildren visited the storage to meet Panda. They talked about the treasures in the room that belonged to Yuta, including Panda. Even though Panda had lost all his functions, he could still move. He still retained consciousness, and it seems he still cares for Yuta’s grandchildren.
Even though he is the longest surviving character in JJK, Panda faces the most tragic fate when he has a life of solitude. All his friends have aged and passed away, while Panda is left alone like an abandoned relic. Time seems to have stopped for Panda, and he always exists in a state resembling an old toy covered in dust.
How can Panda survive for so long?
In reality, Panda is a cursed corpse created by Masamichi Yaga. Masamichi Yaga is the only known character capable of creating cursed corpses that can generate cursed energy.
He created Panda, a being born with consciousness and three cores. Each of his cores is unique, allowing him to transform between them and alter his physical form at will. Even among cursed corpses, Panda is unique.
He can survive for so long because he lacks a core of a human. If Yaga were still alive, he might have been able to help Panda regain his strength after the battle with Kashimo. Unfortunately, Panda has completely lost the function of his cores and remains in a state of dormancy while still retaining his consciousness. He might continue to survive for many decades or even centuries.
