As the name suggests, these families are some of the most prominent clans in Japan, holding significant positions within the Jujutsu community. Typically, the three prominent families in Jujutsu Kaisen wield considerable power and have a substantial influence over the storyline. Among them, some of the most powerful sorcerers in the JJK universe stem from these three major families.
Throughout the development of JJK, the three main families have experienced various changes and transformations, impacting the lives of numerous individuals and the broader community.
The Zenin Family’s Fate
The family that faces the most severe challenges in JJK is the Zenin clan. They have been completely annihilated, primarily due to the actions of a single individual: Zenin Maki. Maki is consistently portrayed as one of the strongest characters towards the end of the series, having reached a pivotal moment in her journey.
Initially, she sought to use her immense strength to change her family’s way of life but soon realized that the traditional values she was striving to alter were deeply entrenched. Maki decided to sever all ties with her family, embarking on a path of destruction, especially after awakening her true potential.
Upon fully realizing her powers, Maki resolved to eradicate her entire family and escape from her past curses. She succeeded due to her overwhelming strength, reaching a point where no one dared challenge her. Maki ultimately reached a level of power comparable to Toji, possibly even surpassing him.
By the end of the story, the Zenin family no longer exists, though Megumi remains a character with Zenin blood. In the story’s conclusion, Maki has two nieces, both of whom carry the Zenin lineage.
The Kamo Family’s Role
The Gojo and Kamo families lack extensive exposition since the author has not fully elaborated on their roles in the story. However, what is known is that these families have had a substantial impact on Japan and their influence has been wielded by certain individuals for personal gain.
At the beginning of the narrative, Kamo Noritoshi is introduced as the heir of the family, and he is still in the process of consolidating his power to assume this role. However, various events have not unfolded in a manner that favored Noritoshi as he finds himself in a complex position within the story.
During this time, his significance begins to diminish. He assisted Yuji in taking control over blood manipulation, yet his contributions during the Shinjuku Showdown were virtually nonexistent. Ultimately, he revealed his family’s secrets to an outsider, marking a significant turning point for the Kamo family.
Kenjaku is the last prominent figure associated with the Kamo family and held his position until his demise. However, with Yuta’s death, Kenjaku also faced challenges, leading to the complete downfall of the Kamo family by the end of JJK.
The Gojo Family’s Legacy
The Gojo family’s strength and political power derive largely from Satoru Gojo, who is depicted as the most powerful sorcerer in the present day and the only one capable of contending with Sukuna. This family possesses considerable authority due to his prominence. However, Gojo’s death during the Shinjuku Showdown resulted in a significant loss of strength for the Gojo family, which now faces the risk of collapse.
Logically, it is expected that these events would lead to substantial repercussions. Nonetheless, there is specific information indicating that by 2035, the Gojo family would have embarked on a rather interesting path. At some point, Yuta, Gojo’s protege, became the primary heir of the Gojo family. This may have been due to the deep bond they shared, with Yuta being the closest confidant of Gojo.
As of 2035, the Gojo family still exists, and even by 2080, they are seen to remain intact. This indicates that among the three major families, the Gojo family is the only one that has survived, with Yuta at its helm. As long as Yuta remains alive, he will likely continue to lead the Gojo family, even though he is technically the primary heir. After Yuta’s demise, what will happen to this family remains unknown, and much of this uncertainty stems from the fact that the identity of Yuta’s child is still undisclosed.
