In 1999, Minh “Gooseman” Le Collaborated to Create the Legendary Counter-Strike Mod on the Half-Life Engine
After 25 years, Counter-Strike has become a monumental achievement in the gaming industry, attracting millions of players with daily player counts consistently exceeding one million – a success that can’t be overstated under Valve’s management.

However, Minh Le’s passion for the FPS genre is far from over. Last year, he launched Alpha Response – a completely new game that embraces tactical combat and is currently receiving a significant discount on Steam.
Unlike Counter-Strike, Alpha Response focuses primarily on PvE elements. Players take on the role of a member of a global police force, either independently or cooperatively, as they participate in missions to thwart criminal activities. Whether it’s rescuing hostages or defusing bombs, players must be ready for combat at all times. The intense sound design, quick-paced gameplay, and tactical approach are key factors that determine victory and defeat – Alpha Response embodies the essence of a challenging FPS game.

The game takes place in expansive, intricately designed environments. Players must continuously navigate through subway stations, cross precarious bridges, and always remain alert to protect civilians. With a constant threat of danger, players must act quickly, adapt to changing situations, and be ready to engage in combat at any moment. As of July 6, the development team at Ultimo Ratio Games has released a new update for Alpha Response, introducing a new flying drone that follows players and drops stun grenades – sure to enhance the intensity of firefights. The artificial intelligence (AI) of enemy units has also been improved, exhibiting more realistic behaviors: they use fewer stun grenades, no longer cluster into overly large groups, and are more accurate in their attacks. The system for dropping and deploying gas canisters has also been refined, accompanied by more immersive sound effects – all aimed at enhancing the gameplay experience.

With this latest price drop, Alpha Response has also reached its highest concurrent player count since launching in Early Access on Steam, with 985 players online simultaneously – according to data from SteamDB. This number holds even greater potential for growth in the future. Currently, Alpha Response is available at a 51% discount on Steam, priced at just 127,500 VND. This promotional offer will be available until July 10.
