From a young age, the Barbie doll has been a beloved toy for many girls. As a result, it’s not uncommon for individuals to envision a life filled with vibrant colors as they grow up. Katie Loveday, an 18-year-old from England, has made this dream a reality, embracing a life that is “colorful” in every sense.
Despite the challenges of fully adopting a colorful lifestyle, Katie has successfully transformed herself into a living embodiment of the Barbie doll, captivating many with her vibrant existence. She shared her journey with SWNS, revealing that her love for Barbie dolls began when she received one as a birthday gift. Since then, she has consistently chosen Barbie-themed outfits, often coordinating her wardrobe to match.
Katie recalls her early obsession with Barbie dolls, saying, “I have every Barbie version, including the classic Barbie in a pink dress and a multi-colored car.” She loves to dress in all-pink outfits.
“I have every Barbie version, including the classic Barbie in a pink dress and a multi-colored car. I love to dress in all-pink outfits.” – Katie shares her passion for Barbie dolls.
Even though she adores colorful attire, Katie adopted a more subdued style during her secondary school years, often wearing white blouses, white shoes, and blue jeans. However, she expressed that she never felt comfortable in such plain clothing, stating:
“I feel very uncomfortable when I wear plain clothes. After school, I realized that I didn’t feel like myself when I wore simple outfits. I only wear what I think reflects my personality.”
Not only does she enjoy wearing colorful outfits, but Katie also collects over 100 Barbie dolls, as well as creating a full Barbie-themed environment in her house, including her bedroom, car, and many other items associated with this iconic character.
Additionally, Katie reveals that she has concerns about finding a boyfriend in the future: “I worry that anyone I date might think my room, which is entirely colored, is too much. I feel like most people would prefer someone who dresses ‘normally’ while my entire aesthetic is like a Barbie doll.”
Despite these worries, Katie feels fortunate for being bold enough to embrace her unique style and is delighted to be her true self.
