2024: A Promising Year for the Global Gaming Industry with the Launch of Notable Titles
In contrast, 2024 also marks a year of significant forgetfulness, with many developers and publishers struggling with a number of failed projects.
Highlights Among the Notable Failures – Games That Left Players Disappointed
PlayStation 5 Pro: Making Games Look Better Than Ever
When the PlayStation 5 Pro was unveiled in September, it sparked considerable debate. Priced at $700, its performance improvements raised questions about what it could bring to the gaming experience. Despite this, if the PS5 Pro truly delivers significant enhancements, Sony might not be overly concerned.

It cannot be denied that some titles have performed significantly better than others. However, it is not easy to list all the blockbuster games that have underperformed after being released on the PlayStation 5 Pro. Some notable titles include Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Alan Wake II, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This situation has notably diminished player enthusiasm and the overall appeal of this console.
Concord: A Game That Quickly Faded
Not every game can become a hit; however, what happened with Concord is still surprising in hindsight. Sony released this multiplayer game for $40 in a highly competitive market, and it faced tough competition against numerous free-to-play titles. The game ultimately failed to capture the audience’s interest, and while it was initially offered for free, it soon became known as a “failed launch.”

All of these events occurred within a two-month window. Concord launched on August 23 but was “pulled” just two weeks later on September 6, and the developer Firewalk Studios closed its doors on October 9.
No New Updates on GTA 6
At the end of 2023, Rockstar Games concluded a decade of anticipation and released the first teaser for Grand Theft Auto 6. This teaser quickly gained millions of views and sparked numerous discussions among YouTubers and gamers eager for detailed information. Now, a year has passed, and Rockstar continues to remain silent regarding any updates on GTA 6.

As of December 2023, Rockstar has yet to release any screenshots or additional teasers for the next installment of GTA, which is expected in 2025. There’s been nothing at all! Fans hope that a new teaser will appear at The Game Awards; however, this remains uncertain as Rockstar is rarely present at such events to promote upcoming releases.
Now, the question for 2025 is: When will the teaser for GTA 6 be released, and will Rockstar’s next installment be launched this year or be delayed, similar to many previous titles from the company?
