According to statistics from Netflix, the miniseries titled Dear Child (or Liebes Kind) has impressively dethroned One Piece to claim the number one spot globally for two consecutive weeks. This gripping thriller has not only topped the charts in 50 countries (as of September 14) but has also made it into the top 10 in over 80 nations, including Vietnam.

On Rotten Tomatoes, viewers have left numerous positive reviews, praising Dear Child as an unpredictable series that captivates from the very first moments. The film’s plot has been described as unique, compelling, and devoid of unnecessary dramatic clichés, focusing instead on the deep emotional ties of familial bonds.
Additionally, the performances of the cast of Dear Child have received high acclaim. Among them, child actress Naila Schuberth, who plays Hannah, one of the three main characters who has been kidnapped for many years, stands out. Upon her escape, Hannah’s calm demeanor and extraordinary resilience are beautifully portrayed by Schuberth.


The story of Dear Child is adapted from a novel of the same name by Roman Hausman, centering around Lena, a woman who has been missing for several years. One day, Lena and her daughter Hannah find a way to escape and return to their normal lives. However, upon arriving at the hospital, the police inform Lena’s father that he will be reunited with his daughter after 13 years of separation, only to discover that the girl he believes to be his granddaughter is not actually Lena.


The series cleverly weaves in various plot twists, keeping the audience on edge with unexpected developments throughout the six episodes. Dear Child is poised to be a quality masterpiece, comparable to previous psychological thrillers such as Dark or 1899.
