Since today, when we recall the football games, most of the games will likely revolve around two main choices.
The two titles are PES – the predecessor of eFootball, as well as the renowned FIFA series. As seen at the recent Game Awards 2024 event, many were surprised by the emergence of Rematch – a new title that has quickly captured the attention of sports fans worldwide.
Developed by the studio Scolap, Rematch is a name that has previously stood out with the hit game Sifu.
Importantly, the gameplay that Rematch brings is quite different from the traditional methods. Instead of being a single-player game like Sifu, Rematch is an online football game that allows multiple players to compete simultaneously. Moreover, it also differs significantly from FIFA and PES in the past. There will no longer be a control system for each player on the field; instead, the gameplay will focus solely on issuing commands to a single character at a time.
Currently, there is not much information available about Rematch at this time. It is only known that the matches in this game will take place in a 5vs5 format where each player will control a single character. There will not be any character skills; thus, this will be a gameplay style entirely dependent on skills. Importantly, almost all situations will not have any issues when the matches do not go as planned.
At present, it remains unclear when Rematch will be ready for release, but Sloclap is expected to provide more information in the near future. Following the success of Sifu, venturing into a completely different genre with Rematch may be a risk, but it also offers an exciting new gameplay style that can appeal to fans of the Scolap development studio.
