The Beloved Scenes of Oda in One Piece
Eiichiro Oda’s work is filled with numerous story arcs and moments that resonate deeply with fans, making it challenging to choose a favorite. However, the difficulty doesn’t solely lie with Oda. The author has selected his favorite scenes from the story of One Piece, and what’s fascinating is that these moments often do not feature main characters like Luffy or Zoro.
In 2020, Oda conducted an interview with Arashi, sharing his top three favorite scenes from the entire One Piece saga. The first is from the Wano arc, the second is from the Sabaody Archipelago arc, and the final one is from the Skypiea arc.
Wano Arc: The Flower Capital’s Opening Scene
The scene Oda loves most in One Piece is the opening scene of the Wano arc, showcasing the beauty of the Flower Capital amidst the chaos caused by Kaido and Kurozumi Orochi’s destruction.
The Flower Capital holds a special place in Oda’s heart and in the narrative of One Piece. Initially governed by Kozuki Sukiyaki, this region later fell under Orochi’s oppressive rule, becoming a stark representation of the suffering within Wano.

Wano occupies a unique position in Oda’s heart and among One Piece fans. Before commencing the Wano arc, Oda expressed his enthusiasm numerous times regarding this part of the story, which undoubtedly met the expectations of fans. It stands out not only for its captivating storylines but also as one of the most remarkable arcs in recent anime history.
Favorite Moments: Laughter and Joy
During the interview, Oda admitted that while the opening scene of Wano is his favorite in One Piece, there are two other scenes that hold important places in his list. The second favorite is the cheerful conversation between Robin and Usopp in the early part of the Sabaody Archipelago arc.

When the Straw Hats arrived at Sabaody, Robin discovered a type of tree sap that stuck to Usopp’s clothing. This interaction brought a light-hearted moment amidst the chaos, making it a memorable scene for Oda as it encapsulates the authentic spirit of camaraderie in One Piece.
Skypiea Arc: A Festive Gathering
Oda’s third and final favorite scene in One Piece is the campfire gathering in Skypiea. Before engaging in a fierce battle against Enel, the Straw Hats decided to enjoy a joyous moment together, which led to a grand feast around the campfire. Oda emphasized that he dedicated the entire Skypiea arc to this celebratory atmosphere.
