Opening Scene of Bleach TYBW (Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War) Part 3 Represented by Masashi Ito (who also worked on the opening arc of Black Clover), features a song by the Japanese band Six Lounge. This song has received numerous praises from fans, but one heartbreaking detail has shattered many hearts.
There is a brief scene where we see the hand of the Soul King, transitioning to the face of Ukitake Juushiro – the former captain of the 13th Division of Gotei 13, and shortly after we see him being trapped by the Quincy. Bleach anime fans may not be aware, but manga readers know about Ukitake’s ultimate sacrifice during the Quincy invasion.

Not only that, but his connection with the Soul King is also a significant plot twist in the storyline. This sequence of events reveals the ritual Kamikake that Ukitake performed to assist the Soul Society.
In the manga, during the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, when Soul Society is attacked by Yhwach, Ukitake activated Kamikake to become the right arm of the Soul King. A dark shadow appears from Ukitake, in the form of Mimihagi, initially representing the Soul King’s divine will. This event leaves all viewers stunned.

Bleach fans were deeply moved when they witnessed this song, capturing Ukitake’s pain in just a few moments.
One fan commented: “Ukitake’s expression of Kamikake resonates perfectly with the lyrics of the song ‘I wish I could hold your hand and pray to the stars that my part would come back to me as it once was.’ It truly is heartbreaking.”
“As someone who has been closely associated with Bleach throughout the series, the focus on Ukitake and Kamikake made me feel incredibly moved, unlike anything I have experienced before. I can confidently say that Kubo will bring us a shocking story that will shake the very foundation of the community,” shared another fan.
A third fan added: “Ukitake’s scene is artistic, yet I fear that I may die because of him.”
