Dragon Ball Super Chapter 24 is set to be released in Japan on April 4, 2025. To celebrate the release of this chapter, the official Dragon Ball website conducted an interview with Toyotarou, alongside a devoted Dragon Ball fan and Japanese idol Maria Makino from the music group Morning Musume ’25.
In the interview, Toyotarou revealed that he has prepared materials for the upcoming chapters of Dragon Ball Super, and the manga will soon feature a completely new storyline, including the long-awaited “Black Frieza” saga. Additionally, the manga adaptation of the CGI animated film from 2022, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, was also discussed, revealing the involvement of creator Akira Toriyama in both versions of the story.
Dragon Ball Super Explains Why Vegeta Defeated Goku in Their Final Battle

During the discussion about the current situation regarding power levels, Makino highlighted the after-credit scene where Vegeta defeats Goku in a battle that both fighters felt was intense. The outcome of this fight was unexpected, making it challenging to determine who is stronger between the two. However, according to Toyotarou, Toriyama wanted to see Vegeta surpass Goku, which is why he illustrated this decisive match in the manga version of the story.
The movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was released theatrically in Japan on June 11, 2022. This 21st installment in the Dragon Ball series was the first time Toei Animation utilized CGI animation for its production. However, what set Super Hero apart from previous installments was its focus on avoiding Goku and Vegeta, allowing Piccolo and Gohan to take center stage. These characters have remained fan favorites but have been criticized for being sidelined in the past. This becomes evident once again in the ongoing Dragon Ball Daima series, where Goku and Vegeta both undergo completely new transformations, turning them into warriors with a fresh perspective.
With much praise lavished on Dragon Ball Super, fans appreciated Vegeta’s victory over Goku in their exhibition battle on Beerus’s planet. Fans are excited about this moment, considering the significant growth Vegeta has experienced since their initial encounters. This moment serves as a catharsis for those who have been disappointed by previous films, particularly Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, which clearly displayed Vegeta’s defeat at the hands of Golden Frieza, only for the 2015 film to challenge time and space to declare Goku the victor.
