List of Esports Games for ASIAD 2026 Sparks Excitement in the Community
Recently, the Vietnam Esports Federation (VIRESA) announced the list of Esports games that will be contested at the ASIAD 2026, which is set to be held in Aichi Nagoya, Japan. Accordingly, a number of popular titles will participate, such as League of Legends, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Street Fighter 6. However, there are some notable absences, particularly FC Online and Mobile Legends.

In place of FC Online, eFootball will be featured—a football game that has gained popularity among Vietnamese gamers. Meanwhile, League of Legends was only able to compete in a limited number of nations, so it was not selected, with Honor of Kings taking its place.

Of course, several notable titles representing the host country must be considered, such as Pokémon Unite and Naraka: Bladepoint. Notably, Naraka: Bladepoint is a favorite of SofM and has even inspired a character design based on the coach of MGN Vikings Esports. This raises many questions about whether SofM will compete in this tournament with the aforementioned game.

The Vietnamese Esports Community Enthusiastically Discusses the ASIAD 2026 List
According to many opinions, with a few titles such as Pokémon Unite, Street Fighter 6, and Puyo Puyo… the Gold Medal will be hard to escape from the host country as these are all games favored in Japan. However, fans are still eagerly waiting for the list of games that the Vietnamese Esports team will register.

The removal of League of Legends and FC Online from the ASIAD 2026 list is a noteworthy change, but it also creates opportunities for new Esports games to have their chance to shine at this major tournament. This is a great opportunity for Vietnam Esports to diversify its competitive games while simultaneously creating momentum for aspiring teams to achieve greater accomplishments.
