After the initial launch, the survival game Dune: Awakening by Funcom is facing serious issues.
The rising concerns related to PvP have made players increasingly frustrated: from the lack of support for solo players, a dull and meaningless experience in the Deep Desert region, to the scarcity of PvE server resources. However, the most alarming issue is the rampant development of hacks and cheats – which is currently making the gaming community very uneasy.

Recently, the official community of Dune: Awakening has been flooded with reports of cheating behavior from players.
According to player reports, hackers frequently teleport into the Deep Desert – the central area of the game – to steal ornithopters (a type of flying vehicle for players) as soon as they load the game. Many players share that specific hacker accounts appear in various locations within Deep Desert, stealing ornithopters from anyone who shows up. This issue has been recurring for several days, causing many players to lose valuable vehicles and rare items.

Some players have even given up trying to play altogether. Although there have been reports of these cheating incidents sent to Funcom, there has been no apparent response or action from the developers. In fact, one email response indicates that up to 30 players have simultaneously quit the game. While the hacking situation continues to spread, Funcom has yet to issue any statements regarding anti-cheating measures. Previously, the company did acknowledge the need for significant adjustments to the game, but they claimed that they do not intend to intervene in the server structure – a matter that the community is very concerned about.

The lack of feedback from the developers is currently causing players to feel disheartened. A group of players has called for a boycott to create pressure, simultaneously warning that if the situation does not improve soon, Dune: Awakening may lose a significant portion of its player base just months after its release. A quick search on Google shows that it is quite easy to find and download hacks specifically designed for Dune: Awakening. This situation is making the community increasingly worried about the security of the game, as it seems too vulnerable, and the frequency of cheat waves is becoming more sophisticated.
