Which Mobile Games Are the Most Hated?
Undoubtedly, this has been a question posed by many gamers over the years. Understanding the dynamics within the mobile gaming industry is becoming increasingly complex and intricate. It’s certain that there will be various titles that players despise. However, according to “9 out of 10 people,” if you only listen to the opinions of individual players, it is quite challenging to synthesize and conclude what games belong on the “black list”.

Fortunately, recently, a public opinion poll was conducted in China that allowed gamers to express their feelings towards mobile games they “hate the most.” Although the survey scale was not large, the results clearly reflected the trends and psychological sentiments of the gaming community, indicating a growing sentiment of “love-hate” among players.
Are Mobile Games “National Games” Hated Now? Is the Gacha Trend Still Thriving?
Two titles, Onmyoji and Identity V, once symbols of pride for NetEase, have now fallen into the most hated category. Many players argue that Onmyoji has increasingly lost its appeal due to the overwhelming focus on “gacha mechanics” and the reliance on luck. Meanwhile, Identity V, a game that was once loved for its distinct gothic style, has faced backlash due to its “toxic community,” poor game balance, and outdated updates.

Another widely recognized title is Honor of Kings, often referred to as “the mobile version of League of Legends,” which is considered a “national game” with hundreds of millions of players. However, it also faces criticism for inducing feelings of fatigue, pressure, and even addiction among gamers. The rapid meta shifts, constant updates, and the demand to “try hard” have made many players feel disconnected from the actual gameplay experience.
In stark contrast to the hated titles, the “hot” category is dominated by Gacha games like Honkai: Star Rail, Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, Arknights, and Blue Archive.

Although these games utilize a “luck-based” character acquisition model, they still manage to maintain high-quality content, engaging narratives, and unique character designs. Notably, they balance the elements of “gacha” with player experience, making them “golden opportunities” in the current mobile gaming landscape.
