Anime One Piece Episode 1116 Features Sabo Engaging with the Revolutionary Army
The status of Sabo remains uncertain for some time, especially after the Kingdom of Lulusia was destroyed. Fortunately, Sabo was not on the island and has returned to the headquarters of the Revolutionary Army. The episode features the appearance of many familiar characters from One Piece, including Ahiru, the vice chief of the Revolutionary Army in the East Blue and assistant to Belo Betty. In the manga’s original color palette, she has brown skin, wears a green jacket, and has brown hair. However, in the official color version from Shueisha, her hair is black and her skin is darker.

However, in the latest episode of One Piece, her skin is depicted as white, surprising many viewers. While Toei Animation has shown her original color scheme in episode 885, it seems that they have made a change now.
While sharing the visual frames from the episode, the commentator Pew referred to Ahiru as “the new revolutionary girl,” but later discovered that she had been introduced earlier. Viewers were left perplexed by the “whitewashing” since all previous color versions of Ahiru depicted her as having brown skin.

One viewer commented: “It’s really surprising that One Piece builds upon the concept of exploring a world with various cultural backgrounds, yet there are moments of whitewashing that really stand out in the anime.”
Another viewer shared: “This is a complete change for a character that has no logical reason for such a transformation.”
Fans jokingly noted: “This girl Ahiru looks like Robin. Just need Ahiru to share that white skin tip.”
The One Piece manga is currently heading towards the highly anticipated Elbaf arc, where Usopp is expected to play a major role.
