T1 Fans and Gumayusi Engage in “Overreaction” Drama
These days, the drama surrounding T1 – Gumayusi – Smash has garnered significant attention, especially among T1 fans and related teams, who are likely to stir up controversies. Recently, T1 announced its livestream schedule for late March 2025, which has sparked new debates. Notably, when T1’s official Weibo account posted the announcement, many fans from Vietnam expressed their discontent towards the opposing team on Weibo.

However, this is an action that has drawn… too much reaction from Gumayusi fans in Vietnam. The League of Legends community in the country is currently confused as T1 is in a turbulent state, and Gumayusi is facing difficulties. However, this does not imply that the team’s reputation or the fanbase of the 2002-born player may cause disturbances to other audiences with unsubstantiated claims.

Immediately after, many League of Legends fans from the LPL began to shift their focus to these fans and created a more hostile environment under T1’s Weibo. Many fan clubs of T1 and Gumayusi in Vietnam had to call for fans to delete comments and maintain calmness in a situation that remains unclear and has yet to stabilize.

T1 Fans and Gumayusi Need to Maintain Calmness
With the heightened attention directed towards Gumayusi – Smash and the upcoming lineup, it can be said that T1 has achieved the expected media impact, even though their approach may be contentious. Furthermore, the creation of an anti-fan group targeting Gumayusi, while not lacking in supporters, could inadvertently “help” Smash secure a stable fanbase in the early days of their streaming.
Additionally, the anti-fans’ gifts to Smash could signify that these anti-fans may donate and purchase merchandise related to Smash if such products are made available in the future. This presents an opportunity for T1.

Therefore, both T1 fans and Gumayusi fans need to practice restraint and avoid excessive actions. Not only does it tarnish the image of Vietnamese League of Legends fans in the eyes of the international community, but it could also bring adverse outcomes and pressure to the teams in the future.
