Revitalization Plans for the Assassin’s Creed Franchise
After a long period of focusing on the strategy of “less is more,” Ubisoft is reportedly preparing to launch an ambitious plan for the Assassin’s Creed brand. According to reliable sources from Tom Henderson (Insider Gaming), Ubisoft may release up to 9 titles in the Assassin’s Creed series over the next 6 years, marking a return to a robust release cycle reminiscent of the golden age of the 2010s.

These titles will not only be confined to traditional action role-playing games but will also expand into various other genres such as mobile games, large-scale immersive experiences, and notably, two multiplayer games. The current list is categorized as follows:
- 2 major RPGs (including Scarlet and an unannounced title)
- 2 remakes, one of which is Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
- 2 smaller experiences
- 2 multiplayer games
- 1 mobile game

It is noteworthy that Ubisoft is investing heavily in diversifying the player experience with many new formats, including Invictus – a multiplayer game inspired by Fall Guys. Invictus will feature 16-player matches, and if positively received, Ubisoft has plans to support this game over the next 5 years with numerous updates.
Clear Release Timeline for the Assassin’s Creed Series
If the information is accurate, during the upcoming period, players will have the chance to experience a plethora of new titles such as:
- Jade: a mobile version of Assassin’s Creed – aiming to become a mobile blockbuster
- Invictus: a multiplayer game drawing inspiration from Fall Guys
- Scarlet and Hexe: two upcoming mainline RPG titles
- Obsidian, Stardust, Emerald: projects with content still under wraps
- Remake 3 and RPG 3: two projects yet to have detailed announcements

Additionally, some sources indicate that Assassin’s Creed: Mask – a game previously in development for Netflix – has now been canceled. Overall, the revival of Assassin’s Creed with a rich lineup could help Ubisoft recover from recent disappointments, such as Star Wars Outlaws. The success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which was recently released, has further bolstered confidence in accelerating releases and diversifying product offerings.

However, there are also concerns that Ubisoft may be treading a fine line that could lead to “brand dilution.” Nevertheless, the division of products into many segments – from AAA games, remakes, to mobile and multiplayer – shows that Ubisoft is preparing to cater to various player demographics. If executed well, this could be a significant rebirth for the Assassin’s Creed brand.
