The internet community is currently buzzing with news about a 1994-born girl who has managed to secure a scholarship worth more than 30,000 USD from her home country. What stands out even more is that her success is rooted in her passion for comics.
The girl we are talking about is Lê Kiều Khánh Linh, born in 1994 in Hanoi. Linh has just graduated with an A-level degree in International Economics from Foreign Trade University.
It is known that Linh has been deeply passionate about the comic “Hikaru – The Go Master” (also referred to as Hikaru no Go) since she sought permission from her parents to learn Go when she was in the fifth grade. Linh’s parents initially thought that this was merely a hobby, but they soon agreed to let her join a Go club in Hanoi.
At the beginning of 2016, after hearing a friend introduce a scholarship for training in the Go field in South Korea, Linh seized this opportunity and directly contacted the school to apply for the scholarship.
After a waiting period, with outstanding academic results and achievements in her Go studies, Linh was awarded a scholarship at Myongji University (South Korea) specializing in Go, training to become a Master. This scholarship is valued at over 30,000 USD (more than that from her home country).
Linh’s success demonstrates that her passion for comics has transcended the typical stereotypes that often worry many parents. In reality, it can also help propel young people to achieve significant success in their lives.
Once again, congratulations to Lê Kiều Khánh Linh, and we hope that she will become even more successful in her beloved field of Go.
