This information was announced by VNG on May 21. According to the introduction, Mr. Kelly Wong has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VNG. He previously held the position of Deputy General Director for Online Gaming at VNG.
Mr. Wong has nearly 20 years of experience working across various business sectors in Vietnam, having previously held roles such as Deputy General Director at KIDO Group, Chairman of Red Wok Investment (RWI), and Managing Director at Ho Chi Minh City Securities Corporation (HSC).
Prior to this, in September of last year, Mr. Kelly Wong was appointed to the position of General Director of the enterprise.

VNG was established in 2004, initially named Vinagame, with a charter capital of 15 billion VND. After numerous changes, VNG’s charter capital reached over 287 billion VND by the end of the second quarter of 2024.
Mr. Lê Hồng Minh is the founder and has held the position of Chairman and CEO of VNG since its inception in 2004. He is also one of the largest shareholders of the company.
At the beginning of 2023, Mr. Minh transferred the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors to Mr. Võ Sỹ Nhân – one of the independent members appointed during the extraordinary general meeting in 2022. Subsequently, the founder of VNG retained the position of CEO while remaining a member of the Board of Directors. However, when Mr. Nhân resigned in November 2024, Mr. Minh returned to the role of Chairman.

Regarding business operations, VNG is involved in various sectors, including online gaming, social networking, payment and finance, and cloud services.
The segment generating the most revenue for VNG is online gaming, accounting for about 70-80% of total revenue in recent years. The company also operates in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Myanmar, Taiwan, and Indonesia.
Last year, according to the audit report, VNG recorded a revenue of 9,273 billion VND, an increase of 22% compared to 2023. The profit from business operations after adjustments reached 302 billion VND, marking a significant recovery after a loss of 23 billion VND in 2023.
However, the company still reported a net loss of 1,180 billion VND after tax, although this loss has significantly improved compared to previous years.
