Recently, fans of Spider-Man have been eagerly anticipating Marvel’s announcement regarding Venom, the arch-nemesis of Spider-Man, who is set to make a comeback and will be even more menacing than before.
For those who may not know, Venom is an extraterrestrial symbiote that typically bonds with another organism, transferring its powerful abilities while altering the host’s personality after a successful merging.
In the history of its evolution, Venom not only bonded with Spider-Man but also merged with many other characters to become a formidable threat to the world.
Deadpool
Among the characters that Venom has bonded with, Deadpool cannot be overlooked. This mercenary superhero has had encounters with Venom, who also bonded with Iron Man, wielded Thor’s hammer, and even faced off against the Hulk.
After the “Secret War” in the comics, Venom sought to bond with Deadpool to find a way to survive amidst a group of beings hunting symbiotes that could potentially enhance their strength, just like Venom.
Eddie Brock
Eddie Brock is a character who intensely despises Spider-Man, feeling that he represents everything that is wrong in his life. Brock was once a reporter whose life crumbled after Spider-Man thwarted his career, leading to his eventual bonding with Venom and becoming Spider-Man’s arch-enemy.
This character’s story has also been adapted into a standalone film featuring Spider-Man portrayed by Tobey Maguire.
Ann Weying
Ann Weying is Eddie Brock’s ex-wife and a skilled attorney who finds herself caught up in the chaos of her husband’s twisted relationship with Venom. Remarkably, Ann once intervened to help Spider-Man, leading to her own life being endangered when Venom took control over Eddie.
Later, during a desperate encounter, Ann Weying became a critical aspect of Eddie’s struggle, allowing Venom to take over her body, transforming her into a female version of Venom with enhanced abilities.
Flash Thompson
One of the most notable characters who has bonded with Venom is Flash Thompson. This character was chosen by the government to merge with Venom after the symbiote was captured during a battle. The purpose behind this merger was to create a super soldier infused with Venom’s power under government control.
During this integration process, Flash Thompson began to bond with Venom, leading to a unique partnership where they fought together against various threats.
Spider-Gwen
When discussing Spider-Man, one cannot overlook the tragic fate of Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker’s most beloved girlfriend, who caused him immense pain after her death during a battle with the Green Goblin.
In a parallel universe known as Earth-65, Gwen became a superhero known as Spider-Gwen. Of course, she too eventually bonded with Venom, gaining remarkable powers.
Guardians of the Galaxy
After bonding with Venom, Flash Thompson also fought alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy for a significant time. However, there was a period when he struggled to control Venom, allowing the symbiote to escape and bond with other members of the team.
During this time, Venom managed to bond with Drax, and with his immense strength combined with Venom’s powers, Drax became a formidable force capable of taking on various challenges.
T-Rex Venom
In the superhero universe, anything is possible, including having a dinosaur like a T-Rex become a host for Venom. In one comic storyline, Venom bonded with a T-Rex, leading to chaotic adventures where Wolverine and Hawkeye had to deal with the aftermath.
