Big Buck Hunter Arcade – An Arcade Hunting Game Developed and Published by GameMill Entertainment – Now Available on Steam
Initially launched in 2016, Big Buck Hunter Arcade has made its presence felt on various platforms including PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This first-person shooter game allows players to hunt across more than 30 different hunting grounds with over 20 unique animal species to track. Players can also showcase their achievements through online leaderboards.
However, this game has not made significant noise on Steam. Before being removed, Big Buck Hunter Arcade received mixed reviews on Steam, with only about 66% of players expressing satisfaction with this title.
Developer GameMill Entertainment has quietly pulled Big Buck Hunter Arcade from Steam without providing a specific reason, only briefly notifying that the game will cease to be available for purchase on this platform. According to analysis, many potential causes stem from issues related to licensing – a reason often cited for games being removed from Steam. Fortunately, players who purchased Big Buck Hunter Arcade before its removal will still be able to access and play the game normally. Currently, the PC version of the game can only be purchased through Fanatical, where Steam keys are being sold at a discounted price of $7.89 (21% off).
Big Buck Hunter Arcade is just one of many games that have been removed from Steam in 2025. Not long ago, Realm of Ink also faced similar challenges, but thankfully managed to return to the platform after a brief hiatus. However, for Big Buck Hunter Arcade, the potential for a comeback seems very fragile.
The removal of games from Steam often causes disappointment among fans, yet it is a significant reminder of the vast scale that this platform has achieved. Just in 2024 alone, over 18,000 new games were released on Steam. At the beginning of this year, the platform also reached a remarkable milestone with more than 40 million concurrent users online.
