Zeus’s Departure Leaves T1 Feeling “Regretful”
It seems that even the members of T1 are not completely at ease after Zeus left the team, as every event seems to increasingly highlight the loss. In fact, Zeus’s departure has had a significant impact. Just last year, T1 had previously parted ways with the legendary MaRin, and even Faker had to say goodbye to his “charmed third” in the past. However, it can be said that Zeus’s transfer is the starting point of a “domino effect,” and T1 is greatly regretting his exit.

According to reports, at HLE, Zeus has been free to express his creativity and is becoming increasingly proficient in his own playstyle. Recently, Zeus has also introduced innovative strategies such as Nidalee, achieving impressive victories. He confidently stated, “Instead of playing a typical easy champion, I prefer champions that are challenging to control and can cause chaos for the opponent. Since my early practice days, I have committed to becoming a top laner capable of playing all types of champions, and I still adhere to that principle.”
Indeed, Zeus’s proficiency has been evident since the beginning of the 2024 season when he started utilizing tank champions like Gragas and Skarner, with K’Sante being a frequent pick. However, it appears that T1 does not want to lose Zeus’s “carrying potential,” so he still predominantly plays strong carry champions.

In terms of draft strategy, selecting different champions is essential. However, more importantly, Zeus is in a strong team environment, and the opposing teams are ready to create conditions for him to fully utilize his selection power. This is also the scenario that has occurred at T1, as currently, they are performing exceptionally well.
Furthermore, if T1 were to revert back, there’s no guarantee that Zeus would still be able to showcase his full potential. He might continue to face challenges playing carry champions under the current coaching structure. Importantly, T1 can only realistically implement changes when they undergo significant roster adjustments. However, after the departure, T1 has made some personnel decisions that have led to recent changes, which are making T1 appear to be regressing.

Zeus Could Be the Most Regrettable Departure from T1
T1 has parted ways with many players, and some have gone on to achieve success. However, it is clear that currently, Zeus has the potential to become the most regrettable departure in T1’s history. Not only because of his talent but also because after Zeus left, T1 is facing the danger of losing their standing in the ongoing summer tournament.
