In today’s Classic Excerpt article, GameK is excited to introduce a famous excerpt from the film “Romance of the Three Kingdoms,” produced in 1996. This excerpt is titled “Kong Ming’s Solo Battle Against the Huns,” which depicts the iconic solo scene of Zhuge Liang facing the Huns led by Dong Zhuo.
The excerpt “Kong Ming’s Solo Battle Against the Huns” takes place in the backdrop of the Tào Tháo’s army invading Jingzhou, having nearly conquered (about 2/3) of the Central China’s territory at that time. The remaining target of Tào Tháo is to capture the southern territories of the Yangtze River. Before this situation arose, Liu Bei had decided to send Zhuge Liang to meet Sun Quan to negotiate an alliance against Tào Tháo.
Upon arriving in Jiangdong, Zhuge Liang faced significant challenges from the forces of Sun Quan, who were already preparing to confront Tào Tháo. However, with his remarkable strategic skills, Kong Ming managed to perform a legendary “solo” that decisively shattered the cautious intentions of the Jiangdong forces. Additionally, the support from two key figures, Chu Du and Lỗ Túc, ultimately enabled Zhuge Liang to convince Sun Quan to join in the fight against Tào Tháo.
Given the importance of this event, it is considered a prelude to the great battle of Xích Bích, a battle that marked the turning point in the history of the Three Kingdoms, featuring the legendary figures Nguyễ – Thục – Ngô.
