About a month ago, the residents of Tokyo were taken aback when, during one night, a towering Gundam statue, standing at an impressive 18 meters tall, resembling the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam robot from the anime, suddenly appeared amidst a bustling urban area.
The statue was constructed in a shopping center located at DiverCity in Odaiba and has since been relocated to Tokyo. The height of this Gundam statue is equivalent to a seven-story building, making it easily recognizable even from a considerable distance.
Notably, Bandai, the company responsible for creating the Gundam franchise, is considering relocating this statue to another location, with plans possibly being finalized soon. The exact destination of the statue remains undisclosed by Bandai.

Reflecting on the brief history of this significant statue, it is astonishing to note that approximately 4.15 million visitors have come to admire and take selfies with the Gundam statue within just 52 days of its unveiling at Shiokaze Park in 2009. Since then, the statue has been moved to various parks throughout the years, continuously drawing crowds.
The fondness of the locals for this statue indicates that Gundam is more than just a fictional robot from an animated series; it has become a cultural symbol closely intertwined with the lives of the people in the area.
