In the conclusion of Fast & Furious 7, audiences witnessed an emotional farewell scene dedicated to Paul Walker, the late actor who tragically lost his life in a car accident in late 2013. He was renowned for his role as Brian O’Conner, a central character in the Fast & Furious franchise that debuted in 2001.
When the major event occurred, Fast & Furious 7 was still in production. As a result, Vin Diesel and the production team had to turn to Caleb and Cody Walker, Paul’s younger brothers, alongside CGI technology, to complete the remaining scenes.
The character Brian O’Conner of Paul Walker may return in Fast & Furious 8; thanks to the effort of Caleb and Cody Walker like in Fast & Furious 7
In a recent interview with ET Online, Caleb and Cody Walker revealed that they could assist Vin Diesel in performing a tribute scene for Brian O’Conner in Fast 8, the next installment of the high-octane blockbuster series.
“I talked to Vin for about an hour regarding the scene and discussed how it would go. He was curious to know if we were comfortable with the idea of portraying Paul’s character again. Vin wanted the audience to understand that Brian O’Conner is still out there,” Caleb mentioned.
Cody Walker added, “Universal wants to honor Paul Walker, his image, and our family as well.”
The Walker brothers shared their experiences about their involvement in filming Fast & Furious 7. “We could relate to my brother better. My brother and I had to share Paul with others because he was always busy filming away from home. There were times when Paul could not even spend time with the family,” said Caleb.
“At times, we would visit him on set. But it was only when we actually participated in the filming that we truly realized how special Paul was,” Caleb added.
For Cody Walker, during the filming of Fast & Furious 7, he heard many stories about his brother from Vin Diesel that he had never known before. “Paul rarely shared about family and friends regarding work, so I learned a lot about his profession,” Cody stated.
Fast 8 is scheduled to premiere worldwide on April 14, 2017.
