On January 9, Fuji TV featured an interview with actor Masahiro Higashide about his current life after his separation from Anne Watanabe.
According to reports, the star of the film Parasyte is living in a small cabin on a mountain with three actresses: Nari Saito (29 years old), Mado Karasumori (27 years old), and Karin Matsumoto (24 years old). The three women continue to be close friends and have joined Higashide Masahiro in his mountain retreat.
Higashide Masahiro’s living conditions are quite rustic. The actor, who starred in Death Note: Light Up the New World, revealed that he is living far from urban areas, without cell phone reception, running water, or electricity. As a result, he has to rely on skills such as hunting, gathering water, growing vegetables, and foraging daily to survive. Higashide often descends to the nearby village to gather essential supplies.

Higashide Masahiro shared that his life now is very free. The star of Giant Gorg also opened up about his recent experiences, stating he drinks alcohol and does not worry about the future.
Regarding living together with three actresses in their twenties, Higashide Masahiro said: “I don’t care what others say or how they evaluate me. We simply enjoy each other’s company as people do, and our feelings are very genuine. I think of myself as a unique individual. If society demands that everyone must conform to a certain standard or be put in a box, then this society is no longer worth living in. We live freely, according to our own preferences.”
However, Higashide Masahiro’s lifestyle has not received public support. Japanese audiences have commented that the actor, in his quest for freedom, has allowed Anne Watanabe to care for their three children. Currently, the actresses have moved to France, while Higashide Masahiro does not provide support for the children.

Born in 1988, Higashide Masahiro was once a supporting actor and is now a prominent A-list star with notable works such as Death Note: Light Up the New World (2015), Parasyte (2014), and Giant Gorg (2014). He is married to Anne Watanabe, one of the most influential stars in Japan.
However, in January 2021, Higashide Masahiro was exposed for having an affair with actress Erika Karata when she was only 19. The two collaborated in Asako I & II (2018), and Erika Karata was in a relationship with Higashide for three years. This incident caused significant scandal in Japanese entertainment. Higashide faced backlash, his endorsements were withdrawn, and he was forced to take a step back from the spotlight.
