On the evening of March 2, social media was buzzing with news related to comedian Tran Thanh, after a post from viewer V claimed that Tran Thanh had engaged in queue-jumping, resulting in V having to leave disappointed. Just that evening, Tran Thanh’s personal page, along with other streaming pages, was “under attack” by a wave of online backlash.

After the incident went viral on social media, many netizens flocked to Tran Thanh’s official Facebook page to voice their criticisms. Some even went as far as to leave comments such as “funny yet sad,” “too flashy,” and so on, while openly expressing their dissatisfaction with the comedian. Throughout the ordeal, Tran Thanh has not made any public statements.

On the other hand, the cinema chain involved is also facing serious backlash. Not only are netizens criticizing the event, but the CGV Vincom Dong Khoi location (where the queue-jumping incident allegedly occurred) has also received one-star ratings on various platforms, directly impacting the business operations of the establishment.

In response to the incident related to Tran Thanh, Mr. Hoang Hai – the content director of CGV stated: “This is an unfortunate misunderstanding. We deeply regret that it caused the audience to feel disappointed. The incident could be as described by the representative of the CGV Dong Khoi management.” He also refrained from commenting on the “one-star reviews” from viewers related to the cinema.
Additionally, Mr. Hoang Hai emphasized that the cinema management had reached out to customers to clarify the situation. Shortly after, T.H – the deputy manager of CGV Vincom Dong Khoi, posted a clarification, noting that Tran Thanh had booked tickets in advance for his family and did not “cut in line,” and insisted that this did not disrupt other customers’ movie-watching experiences. “From before until now, CGV has always provided special screening services for families, and anyone can book in advance. We do not have any preferential treatment for any group,” T.H stated.
