Entering the match against OKSavingsBank BRION, many were confident in a victory for T1. However, the reality was quite the opposite as T1 lost the match due to three key factors in all three games.
OKBRO had a great start against T1
Clearly, the performance of OKBRO in this match was markedly different from previous matches, particularly in terms of the positioning of Clozer and Hambak. The two players performed exceptionally well, making T1’s gameplay difficult. Clozer himself had won all three matchups before facing off against Faker, indicating that OKBRO’s skill level was high as they approached the World Championship.

T1 completely lacked synergy
Firstly, T1 still showed a lack of necessary synergy, especially in critical moments or when facing pressure. Game 1 is a prime example where multiple errors led to T1’s downfall, allowing OKBRO to turn the tide of the match.
This lack of awareness has also been observed since their match against DK, but due to T1’s victory, they were able to cover up this flaw. It’s worth noting that 4 out of 5 members have been teammates for several years. Thus, it is difficult to say that they lack practice time. The main reason is that the players are not in top form, especially compared to their opponents.

The current display of T1’s players
Throughout all three games, Faker lost lane matches whether playing Viktor or the two champions that helped T1 qualify for the 2024 World Championship, Sylas and Galio. Doran’s performances in games 1 and 3 seemed ineffective, while Keria and Oner struggled with their unconventional strategies. Oner’s Viego was entirely outmatched by the opposing team, severely impairing T1’s gameplay.
Regarding Gumayusi, his confidence level was noticeably impacting his performance. Opting for Lucian over stronger late-game champions like Kai’Sa or Zeri is an example of how T1’s marksman seems to be lacking trust when it comes to handling late-game situations.

Both Oner and Keria could perform well, but if they only have the support of Doran, then the opposing team could easily exploit their weaknesses. It seems that the match where T1 struggled aligns with what many speculated about game 2 in the previous match. Furthermore, there’s a feeling that this was just a team of five ranked players who were merely making do with their roles.
This defeat has not yet extinguished T1’s hopes for MSI. However, it is clear that they are facing too many challenges, and it will be difficult to resolve these issues in a short period.
