In 2023, many actors from the Harry Potter film franchise are making a strong comeback. Recently, Harry Melling, known for playing the character Dudley Dursley, left a mark in the film alongside Christian Bale, and now another star is returning with a completely different appearance, looking “unrecognizable.”

Rupert Grint has made headlines as he stars in the new M. Night Shyamalan film Knock at the Cabin (Vietnamese title: Tiếng Gõ Ở Căn Nhà Gỗ). In the movie, he plays Redmond, one of the intruders breaking into a family’s home. Redmond is characterized by his violent nature and must battle with his own instincts to control his impulses. This group of intruders is not purely evil; they only demand that one of the three family members must sacrifice themselves to… save the world.

No longer the adorable Ron Weasley, the humorous character from Harry Potter, Rupert Grint has sparked interest with his role as a “bad guy,” showcasing a different side of his acting skills. This is also a rare villainous role for the actor throughout his career. “There’s something incredibly appealing about films that deal with the end of the world,” Grint shared about his motivation for participating in the film. His performance has also been described by producers as a significant step forward, not merely “remaining in the past” after the success of the beloved franchise.

Born in 1988, Rupert Grint has had a passion for theater since childhood. He often volunteered for acting roles in school plays or local events, always eager to take on the role of a fish to inhabit his imaginative world. By the late 1990s, when Harry Potter — the beloved book series began its film journey, he quickly submitted an audition video, transforming into a teacher and even rapping about why the crew should choose him. Ultimately, Rupert was recognized and cast as Ron Weasley.

In addition to his long-running role in Harry Potter, Rupert Grint has also appeared in films such as Driving Lessons, Cherrybomb, Wild Target, and has showcased his talents in various fields including music and charity work. Now in his thirties, he dedicates time to his family and pursues personal interests such as ice cream sales and antique hunting. It wasn’t until this year that Grint made a comeback in film with a significant role directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
