The Mummy Returns
The Mummy Returns is an action-adventure horror film released in 2001, directed by Stephen Sommers. It is a sequel to the 1999 film The Mummy. The film features a talented cast including Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo, and Dwayne Johnson.
The storyline begins in the year 3067 B.C. in ancient Egypt, where a warrior named the Scorpion King leads his army to conquer the city of Thebes. Seven years later, the Scorpion King and his army suffer a devastating defeat and retreat into the desert of Ahm Shere, where all but the Scorpion King perish. The Scorpion King prays to the god Anubis for help, and in response, Anubis grants him an army of undead warriors to assist him in reclaiming Thebes. However, Anubis ultimately takes the Scorpion King’s soul.
After many years, the Scorpion King is resurrected by dark forces. However, using their skills and determination, the protagonists Rick and Evelyn O’Connell, along with allies, work together to thwart this evil plan. The Scorpion King seeks to eliminate the O’Connells and the army of Anubis that has returned to claim the land.
