Recently, the first trailer for the upcoming series John Wick – The Continental has captivated audiences with its intense battle scenes. Among the highlights is the appearance of a Vietnamese actress, which has drawn significant attention from the audience in Vietnam.

According to a previous post by Nhung Kate, her character in the John Wick series is named Yen, who plays a significant, though not lead, role. To be part of this grand project, Nhung Kate endured a rigorous three-year wait, initially aspiring to join a film directed by Oliver Stone, which unfortunately fell through. Eventually, through persistent communication with the production team, she secured her role in The Continental.
“The management team was very enthusiastic, always encouraging me to develop my skills. After three years, she sent me a message stating that the team from The Continental, the prequel to the John Wick films, was interested in my profile and the videos I submitted to introduce myself,” Nhung Kate shared.
“A few days later, I performed my audition. A week later, I received the news that they wanted to cast me for the role,” she added.
Nhung Kate, born in 1989, is considered one of the prominent figures in the new generation of Vietnamese cinema. She has appeared in a limited number of films, with notable works such as Đọat Hồn, Bí Mật Tam Giác Vàng, and Cô Hầu Gái. She is well-known for her long-term relationship with Johnny Trí Nguyễn, who has supported her during her training for the role in The Continental.
As a spin-off from the John Wick film series starring Keanu Reeves, The Continental explores the origins of the iconic “assassin’s hotel” of the same name. The story is told from the perspective of Winston Scott (Colin Woodell), a man living in New York during the 1970s. Winston navigates the challenges of running a hidden hotel that caters to the criminal underworld, reflecting on his dark past. The series consists of three episodes, each packed with thrilling moments.
