Chris Hemsworth Admits He is “Tired” of Playing Thor
Chris Hemsworth first took on the role of the Marvel superhero Thor in 2011. Since then, the actor has become a familiar face to fans of superhero films in the role of the God of Thunder. However, during a recent interview with GQ, the star admitted that he has become “tired” of embodying this character.
“I enjoyed this experience. Thor 1 and Thor 2 are my personal favorites from Marvel. Parts 3 and 4 gave a different feeling. After that, there was Avengers, Lebowski Thor, and Thor in Infinity War. I think I just want to do something different. I truly grew tired of this character quite quickly after a few years in the film industry,” Chris Hemsworth confessed.
When asked about whether he would continue to play the role of Thor, he expressed the need for the character to undergo transformation and embrace new colors to remain appealing.
“If I were to return as Thor again, it would have to be completely different,” Chris shared. “We have to do something decisive to keep the audience engaged. If not, it would just be a repetitive appearance of a character that many people have already seen.”
Despite this, Chris Hemsworth remains open to exploring various projects in the meantime, indicating that stepping away from the role of the God of Thunder could allow him to showcase his acting talent in many more ways to the audience.
