Universal Pictures has just announced a new project set for release in the third year. According to the announcement, Chris Morgan – a long-time collaborator of the Fast and Furious franchise, has written the script for the upcoming film. However, as of this moment, there is no official title for the soon-to-be-produced film. Additionally, this upcoming film will connect the events of “Fast X,” which has been released, and “Fast X: Part II,” which is expected to premiere in 2025.

Screenwriter Morgan has previously written and produced “Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” and “The Fate of the Furious.” He has also written scripts and served as an executive producer for the seventh, eighth, and ninth installments in the series. The most recent film, Fast X, directed by Louis Leterrier, opened worldwide in May, earning $320 million and becoming the second-highest-grossing film globally in 2023.
Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson announced his return to the role of Hobbs via a video posted on social media, stating, “The response from fans around the world regarding Hobbs’s return in ‘Fast X’ has left us astonished. The next ‘Fast & Furious’ film that you will see will focus on Hobbs – a character that is set to play a significant role in ‘Fast X: Part II’.”
“Last summer, Vin Diesel and I put aside our differences,” Johnson continued. “We will move forward with brotherhood, determination, and always focus on the brand, the characters, and the audience that we love. I have built my career based on the mentality that ‘the audience comes first’ and that the role of the star is to always be the leading actor in my story.”
