Heat scenes are always challenging for actors, especially for newcomers in the industry. However, one actor has shared an unexpected support from family during his first hot scene.
The actor in question is Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who first experienced a hot scene during the filming of the comedy film Superbad in 2007. In the movie, he had the opportunity to perform his first hot scene, marking a significant moment in his career.

While sharing on The Rich Eisen Show, Mintz-Plasse revealed that it wasn’t exactly a comfortable experience. During this hot scene from Superbad, not only were the crew members present, but there was also someone watching him closely—his mother.
“Of course, my mom couldn’t be away from me all the time, but when I was doing the hot scene, she definitely had to be there, for sure!“, Mintz-Plasse shared about this unforgettable moment from when he first started acting.

When asked about how he felt, Mintz-Plasse didn’t deny that he was quite uncomfortable and nervous with his mother watching him perform the hot scene. He admitted: “At that time, I was still a ‘newbie,’ so I didn’t have much experience. I was really worried, but when I looked at the monitor, I saw my mom laughing and having a great time…“.

Ultimately, Mintz-Plasse speculated that the reason why his mother was present during his first hot scene was that at the time, he was still under 18 years old. Being a minor without much experience, she had no choice but to be on set to keep an eye on him. This was actually a legal requirement from the film’s production to ensure the safety of young actors. Fortunately, Mintz-Plasse successfully completed this challenging scene in Superbad.

This wasn’t the only time mothers “intervened” in the film Superbad. Actor and screenwriter Seth Rogen shared that his own mother contributed a hilarious line to the script for Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s character, McLovin. The detail is that McLovin’s fake ID stated he was 23 years old but was ironically “caught” by a girl who said, “I’m not 18 yet.”

Mintz-Plasse frequently portrays supporting roles in Hollywood’s comedic projects, such as Kick-Ass, Neighbors, Pitch Perfect, etc. However, Superbad remains the film that left the most significant mark on the actor’s career, earning him the Breakthrough Performance award at the MTV Movie Awards.
