Today, Fox and Marvel have jointly announced that the two companies are collaborating to create a new TV Series based on X-Men. The project is set to be helmed by Matt Nix, who will serve as the showrunner for this new series about the Mutant world.
According to the production team’s details, this series will revolve around a family of mutants who discover their children possess extraordinary powers. The family must go on the run from the government, joining forces with underground mutants to survive. This series will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television, with Fox being primarily responsible for the visual aspects.
“The development of this Marvel project is a top priority for our system, and we are very pleased that Matt Nix will be the driving force behind this endeavor. The story about mutants in the comics is rich and complex, along with many enticing elements to explore. With a fantastic cast backing this project, I believe this will be an incredibly engaging series.” David Madden, president of Fox, expressed.
“Partnering with Marvel to create a live-action series for Fox is a long-awaited opportunity for our development team.” Jonathan Davis, President of Creative Affairs at 20th Century Fox Television, added. “Matt, Lauren, Bryan, Simon, Jeph, and Jim are incredibly creative individuals, and we cannot wait to embark on this wonderful project.”
It is known that the X-Men series is a collaboration produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television. The series will be led by industry veterans such as Lauren Shuler Donner (previously involved in X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Wolverine), Bryan Singer (previously directed X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past), Simon Kinberg (previously involved in X-Men: Days of Future Past), Jeph Loeb (previously involved in Daredevil, Jessica Jones), and Jim Chory (previously involved in Daredevil, Jessica Jones).
This is not the first time Fox and Marvel have announced a collaboration to create a TV Series; previously, the two companies also jointly produced the series Hellfire, which followed characters that had previously interacted with the X-Men. However, that project was ultimately “shelved” to make way for this upcoming series focused on the Mutant universe.
Currently, the official title of the X-Men series has not yet been announced, and we will keep you updated with more news about this exciting project in the near future.
