Death Note 2016 has garnered significant attention from fans of the genre. The film is officially titled Death Note: Light Up the NEW World and is promoted as a sequel that captures the essence of the beloved Death Note series that once captivated audiences.
To promote the film’s release, a new official poster was unveiled featuring the embodiment of good and evil. In this poster, one can clearly see the images of the two characters, L and Kira, from the 2006 film, representing the interplay of darkness and light.
What stands out most is the symbolic representation of darkness depicted by L and the light represented by Kira and Yuki Shien (played by Masaki Suda), a character who has a strong presence linked to Kira.
In the middle of the border between light and darkness is Tsukuru Mishima (played by Masahiro Higashide), an investigator who is on the trail of the Death Note mystery.
This arrangement serves as a stark contrast, as those in the light represent human protectors, while those in the shadows are the very killers they seek to stop.
